The Ottoman's weren't known as persecutors of God's people. 

Antiochus Epiphanes did trodden the sanctuary and the host when he desecrated the sanctuary and persecuted the Jews 

Both Pagan and Papal Rome troddened the sanctuary. Pagan Rome in 70 AD, but the Papacy troddened the heavenly sanctuary when it blasphemed God and the Church (see Rev 13:6)
