Host and Stars could have different meanings depending on its context, however in Revelation 12:1, we typically interpret the Host (sun and moon) as symbols representing the Covenant and the stars as symbols for those leaders who taught the Covenant. Thus we can see the attack on the Host and the Stars as an attack on the Covenant and the Church leaders who wrote God's Word.
